Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed:
I was here.
I was hungry.
I was defeated.
I was happy.
I was sad.
I was in love.
I was afraid.
I was hopeful.
I had an idea and I had a purpose and that’s why I made works of art.

Updates

The progress is slow, I have everyday life to contend with as well.

The painting is done in the early hours of the morning, when the insomnia is at it’s worst.
But the seeds are being planted, look for them, they’re out there.

I find flickr and the images on there a never-ending source of inspiration, the colour, the composition, the subject.
Another soure of constant inspiration is literature, there is nothing more I love than a good more, especially as Australia endures the winter months, a good wood-fire, a soft lush armchair, and fluffy warm blanket, and the sound of rain on the window as you consume yourself in a good book.

I have been updating the Everyday Inspirations Blog at ForYouMyHeart.tumblr.com regularly, allowing the visual inspirations I encounter everyday to be seen, not just by myself, but by those who come across this site.

Set #1 Updates: Starting Over

It’s been awhile, the world of For You My Heart has had some slight diversions, and after being unhappy with my first set, which I have not released(and will not be releasing), I’ve decided to rethink my approach to the project, my sets will now be significantly smaller, thus allowing there to be quicker release of sets. My hope is that eventually this may change, and the set sizes may once again increase to about 50-100. But for now the first set is currently 10.

They are well on their way to being finished, I’m significantly high on paint fumes, after being locked in an enclosed space, with the wood fire blazing away. It’s too cold to have a window open, so like I said significantly high, I can feel the headache coming on as we speak.

It’s fair to say I can feel the excitement of unleashing these babies on the public, I can’t wait. I’ve also decided due to current circumstances, the first set will be turning up throughout a few states, so don’t just be looking for them throughout Victoria.

Sneak Peeks coming up throughout the next few days. Stay tuned.

Another most recent Inspiration for this concept is that of Fifty/Fifty Limited. A new company being launched by Jesse Johnson of Motion City Soundtrack, I happened to come across this site through a friend, now nobody really knows what the business will be but Jesse, but the stories and blogs so far, have been mysterious, leading up to the announcement.

I think this is an inspired approach, he explains his inspirations, and stories of his childhood, and hobbies, and hopes for his company, whilst keeping suspense about just what his big idea is.
But specifically this post titled Designers Galore. In which he talks about exclusivity/limited items, of particular pieces of art, made me think. And we he talks about seeing something he likes and making that extra effort to find it, from that artist or designer, it really made me feel this is something I should feel.

Yes this concept will be limited/exclusive, and random, in a way it’ll be a mix of treasure hunt, and luck, it will be done in sets of 50 at this point (each exclusively numbered one to fifty), with the first two sets currently underway. And still being designed. It will also be limited exclusively to Melbourne, Australia at the moment. So keep your eye’s peeled.

You should all go and pick up anything by Shelly O’Reilly.
A great Melbourne Author, who’s short stories and words have been another great inspiration for this project. In particular the way she writes about the world, is the way in which I envisage it.
I only recently happened to pick up some of her stories and was amazed.
It was like she got me, and seen what I see in the world.

The world looks more beautiful when I am under the influence of the most severe type of hangover. The silvery mountain of my pretty hushed city glitters like a fiarytale castle and every curtain and every window holds a warm and lustrous world. An unknown world, the warm and lustrous world of the protected, the sane, the loved. The world is very beautiful with some hangovers, and so am I because I am more than ever before.

It’s nice to feel like somebody out there understands, that there is beauty, and thought in the smaller things in life, the old saying ‘of stoping to smell the roses’ rings true.
This project is about feeling the smaller things in relation to the bigger picture. As human beings we tend to see an object as a whole rather than the details, I want to bring it back to the details.

I think for me one of my biggest inspirations for this concept has to be BanksyBanksy is a UK grafitti artist, who started out in Bristol in 1992, there has been much speculation as to Banksy’s actual identity, with him only doing interviews via email and phone with his voice disguised.

The artist has crossed over into exhibitions, books, and has grafitti’d several places of significance, all of which can be seen on his Wikipedia Page. In fact the header for the current site, is a Banksy piece.

Like Banksy I’ve decided this art project and concept shall remain anonymous, with the bare minimum of people knowing.  At the present moment. If you wish to contact me I can be contacted at; ContactForYouMyHeart[at]Gmail[dot]Com

For me Banksy is somebody who creates controversy, he shoves things people don’t want to think or talk about in their faces, yet at the same time having a certain sense of comic flavour.

Hello world…

Hello world, I hope you are listening
Forgive me if I’m young or speaking out of turn,
there is something I’ve been missing
so here it is For You My Heart.

Welcome to the start of something new.
Big things are coming to For You My Heart.

What’s coming is an art project and concept that has been inspired by a number or people, places, and things.
And I hope in turn you may find some inspiration from it.
